I recently watched this movie Hound dog the other day. It was released in 2007, the film stars Dakota Fanning in a coming-of-age film set in the 1950's American South. She plays the role of a young girl who has been abused and finds comfort in the music of Elvis Presley. The story follows her traumatic life, including a controversial rape scene. This film didn't get a whole lot of attention but I think it was an extremely underrated performance by Dakota Fanning. So much soul.
